Nursing Interventions

Daily weights
Monitor vitals sign and EKG
Administer meds as ordered (antithyroid, beta blockers, radioactive iodine)
Educate: Don’t stop abruptly, take at the same time, avoid iodine foods and aspirin
Monitor for thyroid storm
Surgery—thyroidectomy
